osu! gameplay showcase

Hi! osu! is an international rhythm game where, at least for Standard mode, so called 'beatmaps' are created by the community for songs of their choosing. These beatmaps consist of circles and sliders that you click, or drag, to the rhythm of the music. The look of the gameplay is customized through 'skins' that are distributed and downloaded through forums or gossip.

Sadly, most of its players are weeaboos and most songs are japanese, but you get used to it. This website and its children are made to showcase impressive, and usually famous, plays that are separated into categories. I tried very hard not to include anything cringe worthy, such as weeaboo music or skins that consist of naked anime girls (these actually exist and are fairly popular). A list of terminology used throughout the site can be found here. I chose to make this solely because I had no other ideas for a website.

I would like to personally thank the youtube channel ReeseWasHere for providing almost all replay videos used on this website.

Note - PLEASE WATCH ALL VIDEOS IN 60fps IF POSSIBLE. Almost everyone plays with at least 300+fps, any lower than that makes the map seem much slower than it actually is, but 60fps at least makes a difference.

COOKIEZI

Cookiezi is a Korean player currently living in Japan, and is ranked #3 in the world at the time that this is made. This website will showcase basically any plays of his that I find impressive to watch with any combination of mods. Not to say that those not listed aren't impressive, they're just not fun to watch. His profile can be found here and he streams at http://twitch.tv/shigetora. To the left are some previews of his skill. If you like what you see, visit his showcase. Note that the preview play above is done with the relax mod, which means that they only have to aim and not click.

MEMORIZATION

Because Cookiezi is basically the best that there is, I figured that I'd show a different kind of impressive. The flashlight mod requires that you memorize the entire map, and the easy mod makes the circles extremely close together with a slow approach circle that makes it difficult to track the order they appeared in. The video to the left is an example of the type of plays i'm talking about. If you'd like to see more, click here.
